What is Shadcn Chart?

ReUI Chart is a custom shadcn component built on Recharts and Motion. Recharts handles the SVG rendering, scales, axes, tooltips, and legends. Motion adds entrance animation via animate props. The component exposes the Recharts API without hiding it: you can pass any Recharts prop through to customize ticks, domains, reference lines, or custom tooltips.

Components show charts inside shadcn Card containers with headers, stat badges, and loading skeleton states: not isolated chart playgrounds. This lets you evaluate how a donut chart with center stats, a forecast line chart with a shaded zone, or a 3D isometric bar chart reads inside a real analytics dashboard.

Why Use Shadcn Chart?

Analytics dashboards, SaaS metrics pages, financial summaries, and KPI reports all need charts that match the design system. Raw Recharts is powerful but requires manual token mapping, container sizing, and animation setup. ReUI Chart components provide these out of the box, composing directly with shadcn Card and using CSS variables from your Tailwind theme for colors.

Recharts is React-first, tree-shakeable, and SVG-based: it renders server-side for initial paint and hydrates on the client for interactivity. Motion adds smooth entrance animations without a large bundle penalty. Pair with Shadcn Skeleton for loading states and Shadcn Badge for metric labels on chart cards.

Libraries and ReUI Chart Primitives

ReUI Chart imports Recharts for SVG chart rendering and Motion for entrance animations. Charts render inside shadcn Card with Badge for metric headers and Skeleton for loading states.

Visual treatments: gradient fills, stripe components, crosshatch textures, and glowing effects: are implemented as SVG defs (linearGradient, component) inside the Recharts ResponsiveContainer. No external image assets required.

Shadcn Chart Features

• Recharts SVG Rendering. All charts use Recharts for composable, React-first SVG output. ResponsiveContainer handles resize, custom tooltips use Recharts' render props, and chart state is plain React state.
• Motion Entrance Animations. Charts animate in on mount using Motion. Bar and line charts grow from the baseline; donut charts rotate from 0 to their final arc. All animations are GPU-composited and respect prefers-reduced-motion.
• Bar and Vertical Bar Charts. Standard and vertical bar chart variants with animated monochrome, duotone gradient, diagonal stripe, dotted component, 3D gradient, and 3D isometric visual treatments.
• Area Charts with Component Fills. Gradient area, stacked area, step area, and forecast line charts with visual fills: stripe overlay, crosshatch component, dotted fill, and glowing dot markers on data points.
• Donut and Pie Charts. Donut chart with center total, donut with center stats, multi-dataset pie with stripe components, active segment donut, and Lighthouse scores radial with labels: covering the full range of part-to-whole visualization needs.
• Radar Charts. Radar chart with gradient fill and filled radar with glowing stroke: useful for performance profiling, skill matrices, and competitive comparison dashboards.
• Design Token Integration. All chart colors, border radius, and font sizes reference CSS variables from your Tailwind and shadcn theme. Shadcn Create style options propagate to chart surfaces automatically.
• Responsive and Accessible. Recharts ResponsiveContainer adapts to any container width. Tooltips are keyboard-accessible, and charts include title and description attributes for screen readers.
